Visa registration after you arrive in Russia Your Russian visa must be registered within three business days of your arrival in Russia. If you travel to another Russian city and stay there for more than three business days in a row, you must re-register your visa in that city. Failure to do so may lead to serious problems such as detention by police, fines upon departing the country, and difficulty in getting future Russian visas. Visas may be registered at your hotel or hostel. If you are not staying at a hotel or hostel, but have a tourist visa, your host (individual owning the apartment in which you stay) can submit registration papers for you by post. If you have obtained a business visa through IntelService (the providing partner on the SRAS site), your visa may be registered at the IntelService representative office in Moscow or St. Petersburg. Registration for business visas for periods of one to 12 months takes 5-7 business days. We will need a valid visa, passport and a notarized permission from your host for you to stay and register the visa with him/her or a rental contract. Registration Offices: MOSCOW: 29 Leninskiy Prospekt, tel. (495) 956 4422, fax (495) 956 2244 ST. PETERSBURG: 78 Nevsky pr., tel/fax (812) 327-3023 If your final destination is not Moscow or St. Petersburg and you are not staying at a hotel, you will need to register your visa with a local UVIR office. If you are not staying in Moscow or St Petersburg, please let your visa provider know and they can provide you with an official letter requesting UVIR officials to register your visa in their area.
