VESTNIK, THE JOURNAL OF RUSSIAN AND ASIAN STUDIES  / VESTNIK - ISSUE 10, FALL, 2011
03.11.2011

Vestnik_CoverAndBack_X-1 Welcome! Добро пожаловать!

VESTNIK was created by The School of Russian and Asian Studies in an effort to effectively encourage the study of Russia and those states formerly a part of the Soviet Union. VESTNIK is a scholarly journal which publishes the best in undergraduate and graduate research on any subject of relevance to that geographic region.

In this, its tenth issue, Vestnik brings you a wide range of articles on diverse subjects. Youth Crime under Perestroika looks at the spike in youth crime that occurred as the USSR suffered its political and economic collapse. Recurring Themes in the Kyrgyz Revolutions looks at the social, economic, and political issues that have been prominent in Kyrgyzstan's two most recent revolutions - issues that continue to be of importance as the new government forms.

In literature, Redemption for Dostoevsky and Nietzsche compares and contrasts the philosophies of the great Russian novelist and thinker with the renowned German philosopher. Russian Literature in Kyrgyzstan at the Beginning of the 21st Century offers a student translation of a scholarly article on modern authors working to produce Russian-language literature in Kyrgyzstan. Lastly, Чьи эти прилагательные? Russian Possessive Adjectives gives an in-depth look at those fascinating little adjectives!
