Divided by the Pskova and Velikaya rivers into 3 regions, Pskov has been settled for 10 to 12 thousand years, making it one of the ancient areas of what has become Russia. Along the trade route between Scandinavia and Byzantium, many archeological treasures have been in and around Pskov. There are hundreds of ancient buildings, churches and monasteries dating back as far as the 12th Century.

Pskov is a walled city. The Kremlin at its center includes the beautiful Trinity Cathedral. Other highlights include St. Basil’s church and the church of St. Nicholas, a botanical gardens and a fine arts museum.
