Occasional Paper #297 Published "The Russian Minority in Central Asia: Migration, Politics, and Language" by Sebastien Peyrouse, associate scholar, Institute for International and Strategic Research, Paris, and former fellow, Woodrow Wilson Center, is now available. The paper analyzes the migration patterns of Russians and non-Russians between the Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation, and it analyzes the politics of language in these countries. The research for the paper was conducted while Peyrouse was a Woodrow Wilson Center Fellow during the 2006-07 program year.
