Report from Abroad Internships at Newspapers in Russia, Ukraine, or Central Asia
Report from Abroad is for journalism students looking to jumpstart their careers. This program combines a practical internship with intensive Russian lessons and focused journalism projects. You'll build a portfolio of published material while honing skills that any serious journalist needs: your writing, research skills, and a foreign language.
The Russian-speaking world is one of extraordinary stories. Oil and gas pipelines run through complex geopolitical, ethnic, and environmental conflicts. Growing economies exist side-by-side with wide-spread poverty. Human rights concerns weigh upon societies that produce awe-inspiring achievements in science and culture.
To many, it can seem a cold and closed society, but it is one that respects initiative and persistence, rewarding them by opening and revealing new sides to its fascinating stories. Many award-winning reporters now working for such household names as The New York Times and The Washington Post came to Eurasia early in their careers to gain experience. Report from Abroad places you in the heart of this challenging environment where so much can be achieved.
