Why Study at Bershadsky?

The Bershadsky Conservatory is positioning itself to be the conservatory for international study abroad in Russia. Originally founded in 1999, it recently renamed itself after Alexander Bershadsky to mark its new outlook and approach. Bershadsky was a producer who earned a name for himself after the fall of the Soviet Union as one of Russia's first successful comerical producers who also maintained a very high reputation with critics, scholars, musicians, and the general public. Most teachers at the the Bershadsky Conservatory are graduates of the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, one of Russia's oldest and most respected conservatives. However, many are also practicing musicians in the city, and active in music theory and in pushing the bounds of modern music. Thus, the conservatory can offer the best of both worlds: classical training with a decidedly forward approach to teaching and music.

Academic Programs at Bershadsky

The Bershadsky Conservatory offers flexible courses and individual instruction for students of all levels of music mastery and Russian ability, from begginers to the advanced.

The Target Training Course (TTC) is a customizable music program allowing students to study nearly any instrument in preparation for competitions, castings, performances, or simply to broaden their skills or learn the basics. No audition is required and courses can be arranged from as short as one month to as long as three years. Students are highly encouraged to study the Russian language at the same time. As costs can vary greatly depending on instrument, time frame, level of Russian language, musical ability, etc. students are encouraged to contact us at least four months before the intended start date to enquire about pricing and availability. Courses are only available during the academic year!

The Conservatoire has eight practice rooms with, in total, 4 grand-pianos, 4 pianos, a harpsichord, a synthesizer and a mini recording studio. Practice rooms are generally available for lessons daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
