Travel Expenses in Russia

As we often get inquiries from students who want to travel during thier program, and as we encourage students to do so, we provide the following list of sample costs for train tickets and airfare. Note that while the Russian train system used to have student rates, it no longer offers them, so these prices will be the same for all adults. Please note as well that all prices are one way. Purchasing round-trip airfare will be less expensive overall. Train tickets are only available one-way (you must purchase two tickets seperately). Train tickets may only be purchased 45 days in advance of departure; air tickets can have similar restrictions in Russia. Also please note that summer is a high-season for travel, so this can be considered a high estimate of what you might pay. Winter tickets often cost about 70% of these prices.
